Assimilation, why what and whocares
To assimilate is to take on characteristics of a surrounding species, often referred to happening among plants or this case humans. Beneatha often tries to assimilate in the play by straightening her hair to look more "white", this shows her as weak because she does not have the strength to embrace her black heritage. I see people trying to assimilate to show that they are "cool" or "hip" and so people would like them, I have tried to assimilate but I like the way I am, I love my music and my life just the way it is and would love to stay me and not try to be someone else. I would have to agree with Eric Liu's veiw on assimilation because he believes it is inevitable and it happens in such small doses it is practically impossible to realize it is happening, that is unless you are trying to assimilate.

Families or Self?
In my personal opinion families are more important to someone then themselves, this is because , although you may bash them or treat them bad they will always be there for you when you need them the most. Many people only focus on themselves and only care for themselves causing them to fall in to self desires such as addictions. Though one might lose themselves in these things their family is always there to help them kick the habit.
Though families will separate and lose each other for long periods in time they will always be there to help each other out rather from a hole or a pit, they will always be there.

What I Daydream About....
The American dream... what it is? Well, some would say its being able to fully use their freedom,or get rich quickly, maybe even to live a long and quiet life. From what I have seen, the American dream for the average person is to take more and more, to give into their envy and greed. The American dream is nothing more then the wanting of things that one does not have or need, and yes I too feel this wanting, the difference is I'm not afraid to admit it.
My American dream is to work my way up and become an aeronautical engineer and go into space, I want to live in a small country cottage in the French countryside. This is a simple dream and is all I want.

My Biography
When I first started school, I expected to have fun and meet new people, but after the first few years I have come to realize that school isn't all fun and games, I mean just because its so easy doesn't mean its ALL easy.
I have had many English classes and my share of problems that comes with it. throughout all of those classes I have learned nothing apparently because when I started English 2 and into 3 I had to throw out all of what I have learned before I came to the main campus. I feel like in for a long and hard school year, I have no clue what I'm to expect, but from what I've seen so far, I'm in for a rough ride. So, I guess as they say you learn something new everyday.
